CBF confirms new date for Flamengo v Mirassol league fixture | OneFootball

The Brazilian Football Confederation confirmed the rescheduled Campeonato Brasileiro match between Flamengo and Mirassol will be played at the Maracanã on the second of September, kicking off at 19:30 Brasília time.

The date makes use of a free week during the Copa do Brasil. Both clubs had already been told this window could be used. Vasco, the only Rio side still in that competition, plays the same day at Barradão in Salvador.

The schedule was held back until the Libertadores fixtures were confirmed, and Flamengo's progression left only Copa do Brasil weeks available. In the national cup, Flamengo were eliminated by Vitória in the fifth phase, and Mirassol were recently beaten by Grêmio in the last 16.

The teams have already met in the reverse fixture at the Maião last weekend, Flamengo winning 5-1. Flamengo are second with 45 points, behind Palmeiras on 48 with one game more played.

If that gap remains until the rearranged date, Leonardo Jardim's side could go top with a win. Mirassol sit 17th on 23 points, one behind Internacional, who have also played one more game.
