Getafe explore season-long loan for Viña, owned by Flamengo | OneFootball

Getafe have approached Matías Viña’s representatives to explore a season-long loan for the Flamengo-owned left-back.

According to Globo.com, the Spanish club have signalled interest and the move is viewed positively by the player’s camp, though Flamengo have not yet been formally contacted.

Viña joined River Plate on loan in January, but after the World Cup break head coach Eduardo Coudet opted to exclude the Uruguayan from his plans. River sought to send him back to Flamengo.

Flamengo said they would only accept an early return if River covered his wages through the end of the year, so no agreement was reached.

Getafe are aware of these conditions and are waiting for Viña’s approval before opening talks with Flamengo and River to advance the deal.
