Barcelona have always been known for discovering young talent, and the latest name making waves inside the club is Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez.
As reported by SPORT, his step into the spotlight came thanks to Bojan Krkic, who now works as Deco’s right-hand man.
It is said that Bojan advised Hansi Flick to invite the youngster to train with the senior squad, a move that has already started to change Dro’s career.
The past season was far from smooth for the teenager. Disagreements between Academy Director Jose Ramon Alexanko and his agent Ivan de la Pena created uncertainty over his contract and development.
At a time when his future seemed unclear, Bojan stepped in and backed the player, helping resolve the situation in a way that allowed him to continue progressing at the club.
Bojan has known Dro since his Cadet A days in 2023-24, when he briefly coached him. He saw firsthand that this was not a regular academy player but someone with qualities that could take him far.

Convinced of his talent, Bojan personally recommended him to both Deco and Flick, describing him as a unique footballer.
Flick did not need long to be convinced either, as his first few sessions with the youngster were enough to see the potential.
The chance to train with the first team, followed by inclusion in the summer tour of Asia, has completely changed how the club views Dro.
Although he will continue with the reserves for now, his status inside the club has grown. Barcelona’s sporting project now considers him one of the players worth developing carefully for the future.
Flick’s trust, combined with the support of Deco and Bojan, has lifted Dro from an uncertain path to being seen as one of the brightest prospects at the club.
