Sevilla are pressing on with plans to rebuild the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán at a cost of €221m. The project would mean at least two seasons at La Cartuja and is projected to lift annual revenues by about €18m.
A month ago the city council gave initial approval to the planning study for the stadium’s urban transformation, with a final green light still required. According to El Correo de Andalucía, the club’s economic memo underpins the scheme’s viability.
Construction is estimated at 2.7 years. Sevilla plan to leave Nervión for two seasons at La Cartuja, though procedures could push it to three. Work is due to begin after 2026-27 and could run into June 2029 or late 2029.
Revenues are forecast to rise by more than €18m a year, around 60%, based on 2023 data. Matchday income would grow from €16.73m to €25.62m. Non-matchday revenue is projected to climb from €0.49m to €1.75m, and advertising from €16.50m to €27.50m.
The outlay is split across the new build, reinstatement of surrounding public space and works at the Ciudad Deportiva, with Sevilla funding the project as stadium owner. The area affected around the ground is estimated at 3,780 m2.
The project has a planned life of 50 years. Works must start within 12 months of the building licence and be completed within a maximum of 3 years. The payback period is put at 15 years from construction and 13 from opening.
