Sky Sports reports that Sunderland have movement on deadline day, with one deal described as complete. Sunderland are finalising the permanent departure of Adil Aouchiche to Schalke 04.

German reporter Florian Plettenberg has said no transfer fee is involved, with paperwork being completed before a medical today, and that the 23-year-old is keen on the switch. He added that a verbal agreement has been reached with Aberdeen.

Aouchiche has been on loan at Aberdeen this season, so Sunderland only became directly involved once the permanent framework was settled.

He joined less than two years ago from Lorient on a five-year contract, but despite clear technical quality he struggled to cement a regular first-team role on Wearside.

A Paris Saint-Germain academy graduate, he debuted at 17 and became the club’s youngest scorer in the Coupe de France, then moved to Saint-Étienne before signing for Lorient.

After arriving at Sunderland in September 2023, he also spent time on loan with Portsmouth in search of minutes.

Sunderland have also been linked with Chelsea winger Tyrique George, an England Under-21 international, though he now appears set for Everton on loan with an option to buy, with a medical scheduled.

Chelsea are open to the 19-year-old’s departure due to limited first-team chances. He has six goals and six assists in 37 appearances, and Fulham previously had a £22million agreement before moving on.
