Arnau Martínez arrived in Valencia in the early hours and this morning visited the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna to meet his new team-mates and undergo fitness tests.

He then headed to IMED hospital for medical examinations. According to AS, the right-back will sign a five-year contract.

He will become the club’s seventh signing of the season and the right-back targeted by Carlos Corberán.

Talks had been protracted, but the package is close to six million euros, split between fixed and variable amounts.

If all goes well, he will join training quickly and could be included for Sunday’s trip to A Coruña to face Deportivo on matchday three.
