According to SPORT journalist Carlos Monfort, Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has informed manager Hansi Flick that he continues to experience discomfort in his hamstring.
The situation means that his availability for the upcoming Girona clash remains uncertain and will be determined after tomorrow’s training session.
It must be noted that the Blaugrana star had to leave the Spanish national team camp early due to “strained hamstring muscles in his left leg, with no associated injury,” as confirmed by Barcelona’s medical team.
The club later clarified that Ferran is not entirely sidelined but is undergoing specific treatment to aid his recovery.
Despite taking part in parts of Thursday’s training, the outlet mentions that Ferran did not complete the full session with the group.
Instead, he focused on gym work during the latter stages to avoid any unnecessary strain. The coaching staff, aware of his importance and current form, are being cautious.
They understand that a premature return could risk aggravating the issue, something they are determined to prevent.

This is why Friday’s session will therefore be decisive. It will help Hansi Flick and his staff assess whether the forward can be cleared to play against Girona or if he requires a few more days of recovery.
Sources close to the team suggest that Ferran’s discomfort is mild, but Barcelona’s medical department does not want to take any risks, especially with a busy fixture list ahead and El Clasico against Real Madrid approaching later this month.
The international break has once again caused major setbacks for Barcelona. The so-called “FIFA virus” has struck the squad heavily, leaving Flick short of attacking options.
Alongside Ferran’s muscle issue, both Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski returned injured and are expected to be out for several weeks.
Their absence has left the manager with tough decisions to make as he looks to maintain the team’s momentum.
For now, the focus remains on ensuring Ferran’s full recovery, with Barcelona determined not to rush one of their most in-form players back into action prematurely.
