Corinthians have extended Memphis Depay’s contract by two years to July 2028 after the 32-year-old agreed reduced terms.
According to Globo.com, the Dutch forward is registered on the BID and could feature against Rosario Central on Thursday in the Conmebol Libertadores last 16.
The agreement was sealed on Monday night with approval from the Conselho de Orientação (Cori), and Depay reported to CT Joaquim Grava on Tuesday. He had pushed to stay and accepted the financial conditions set by the board.
Last week president Osmar Stabile withdrew on financial grounds and the club issued a note, prompting a strong social media rebuke from Depay. He later accepted further cuts amid protests in São Paulo and threats after personal data linked to Stabile and relatives were leaked.
Depay thanked those involved, called Corinthians a giant, said he was very happy and keen to return, and spoke of many goals ahead. The protracted talks were ultimately framed as ending well for both sides, with appreciation for his effort to stay.
Having kept up his conditioning during his break, he is seen as ready for 30 to 45 minutes. Since arriving in September 2024 he has played 79 games, scored 20 goals and made 15 assists, helping Corinthians win the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil in 2025 and the Supercopa Rei in 2026.
