Corinthians unveil Memphis Depay T-shirt after contract extension | OneFootball

Corinthians have released a Memphis Depay T-shirt after confirming his contract extension through 31 July 2028.

According to ge.globo, the 32-year-old accepted reduced terms, with a joint marketing fee cut from R$ 15,4 million to R$ 7,7 million, and about R$ 42 million to be paid in four semi-annual instalments from February 2027.

The black shirt, priced at R$ 90,00 on Shop Timão, features the phrase "Chosen by Favela" and a stylised crest on the front. The back adds the emblem with Memphis beside a lion, his favourite animal.

Talks swung dramatically. After the club said last Tuesday there would be no renewal, drawing criticism from the player, the sides met on Wednesday and agreed fresh terms, later approved by the club’s advisory council on Monday.

The club trailed the news with posts centred on the Dutchman, finishing with a video of his career and titles, and the phrase "o propósito nunca tem fim".

His deal was registered in the CBF’s BID at 15:30 on Tuesday, so Fernando Diniz could select him against Rosario Central of Argentina on Thursday at 21:30 at Neo Química Arena, the Libertadores last-16 second leg. The first leg ended 0-0.

Memphis has not played since 25 June, in the Netherlands’ 3-1 win over Tunisia at the World Cup. His last Corinthians game was on 27 May, a 2-0 loss to Platense. Signed in September 2024, he has 79 games, 20 goals and 15 assists, and has won the Campeonato Paulista, Copa do Brasil and Supercopa do Brasil.
