Coventry City have confirmed that Milan van Ewijk, Jay Dasilva and Liam Kitching have all signed new contracts with the club.
All three defenders joined the Sky Blues in the summer of 2023. Ewijk joined from Eredivisie side Heerenveen and has since made 131 appearances. He said: “I’m very happy to sign a new contract.
“It feels like a reward, so I’m delighted and I’m excited for the rest of the season. Hopefully, we can make the dream come true.”
Dasilva signed from Bristol City and recently made his 100th appearance for City. The landmark appearance came in a 1-1 draw against Preston North End back in December.
The 27-year-old said: “I’m buzzing to sign a new deal here. I’m really enjoying my time here so I’m over the moon to get it signed.
“My main focus is helping us achieve what we want to achieve and get the job done. “
Finally, centre-half Kitching is just three games away from reaching 100 City appearances. The Englishman has played over 2500 minutes this season, helping keep eight clean sheets in the Championship.
Kitching said: “I’m delighted to get the deal done. It’s a brilliant squad to be a part of, the gaffer is great to work with and I’m enjoying my time here.
“I want to thank the fans for all their support and hopefully we can get the job done this season.”
Ahead of Coventry’s match against West Bromwich Albion, City manager Frank Lampard spoke about the trio’s new deals.
On van Ewijk, Lampard said: “I’m delighted, he’s a very good player. He’s great to work with because he’s forever engaging with you and I want to help him improve. We’ve done that since we’ve worked together and there’s more to come from him.”
He added: “Jay and Kit have been a big mainstay this season in their own positions. If we want to improve, we have to try and keep players. There are three stories of players committing themselves to the club so it’s great.”
