Leeds United Star Wants To Take Time To Decide On Future | OneFootball

Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri ‘prefers to take his time’ to decide what to do after he received an offer from Marseille, though Torino are still hopeful.

The 28-year-old has been expected to leave Leeds this summer and the Whites recently agreed a deal to loan him to Torino, dependent upon signing a replacement.

With James Trafford now in through the door, Torino have been waiting to welcome Perri, though a slight finger injury delayed matters.

Torino though now have a threat to their loan move for Perri as Marseille have been exploring a move to hijack the Italians’ swoop.

The Serie A side have Perri booked in for a medical today, but according to Italian daily La Stampa, he ‘prefers to take his time’ to decide what to do.

Torino remain confident about signing Perri though and are hoping he arrives in Italy either later today or tomorrow, in order that he can then be put through his medical and complete the move.

Marseille know Perri well from his time in Ligue 1 with Lyon, but the Leeds man is not the only goalkeeper they have on their radar.

Whether Leeds have any preference between the two clubs for Perri remains to be seen.

For Perri, Serie A would represent a new league to sink his teeth into, while he would also not be regarded as a non-EU player as he holds an Italian passport.

The goalkeeper clocked 33 appearances for Lyon in Ligue 1 and kept ten clean sheets in the process, performances which attracted Marseille.

Now the jury is out on what Perri will do, especially after having been forced to wait for Leeds to find a replacement in order to let him go.

There has been financial pressure at Marseille this summer to offload players due to failing to qualify for this season’s Champions League.
