Lazio and Bournemouth are placing the final touches on the transfer of Christos Mandas, while Edoardo Motta will replace him in the Italian capital.
Mandas has been relegated to the bench since Maurizio Sarri’s return to Formello last summer. His only appearance this season was in the Coppa Italia, while Ivan Provedel has started every Serie A contest thus far. Therefore, the management decided to cash in on the Greek goalkeeper, striking an agreement with the Cherries.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lazio and Bournemouth are currently exchanging documents. Therefore, the 24-year-old’s transfer is expected to be announced in the coming hours.
The Premier League club will sign Mandas on loan until the end of the season for €3 million with an option to buy for another €18 million, which could become an obligation if the custodian makes a certain number of appearances.

While the departure of the Greek international is now imminent, Lazio have already found themselves a replacement in Motta, a 21-year-old Juventus youth product, who has been developing his game at Reggiana since 2023.
According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Aquile will pay €1.2 milion to sign the young shot-stopper on a permanent basis, with half of the transfer fee heading to Juventus. Moreover, Reggiana will receive a 5% sell-on in case of a future resale. The Biella native will undergo his medical on Monday before joining Maurizio Sarri’s ranks.
Motta made 20 appearances in Serie B this season, conceding 30 goals and registering five clean sheets.
