Mirza Catovic ‘to join’ Barcelona from Stuttgart on initial loan with obligation | OneFootball

Mirza Catovic is on the verge of joining Barcelona on an initial loan with an obligation to buy next year, according to Kicker.

Stuttgart are set to receive €600k up front, with a permanent fee after 12 months expected to be between €5m and €10m.

The 19-year-old midfielder is due to spend this season with Barcelona’s reserve side, with the prospect of stepping up to the first team in the near future.

Italian-born and a Serbia and Germany dual national, Catovic has eight caps for Germany U19s. He has featured for Stuttgart II in the 3. Liga this season, playing two of their three league games so far.

At six ft three inches, the defensive midfielder could be one to watch in the coming years if his current trajectory continues.
