Genoa have signed 18-year-old Santos forward Robinho Jr on a season-long loan with an option to buy, handing him his first taste of European football. He has completed medical checks and is available to begin with his new team.
The club announced the move on Wednesday.
A Santos academy graduate, Robinho Jr broke into the senior picture before agreeing the move. He made 38 appearances and scored four goals for the club across professional competitions and the Brazilian Under-20 Championship.
Before departing, he posted a farewell message on social media, thanking Santos for his development and saying he would take the experiences with him. He also expressed pride in his roots at the club.
The teenager primarily operates from the right flank of the attack and is viewed by Genoa as one for the future. The Italian side have highlighted his potential and consider their set-up a suitable place for his development.
