According to Globo.com, Santos have agreed a season-long loan for Robinho Jr to Genoa. The Italian club will pay his wages during the spell.
The agreement includes an option to buy for 8 million euros, R$ 48 million, at the end of the loan. Santos would retain 10% of the player’s economic rights if the sale is completed then.
Santos rejected Genoa’s initial proposal, which sought to split his salary. The club then awaited a counter-offer, helped by a push from the player’s camp keen for more minutes in Italian football. A fresh round of talks brought a deal, with the forward making financial concessions.
Robinho Jr is expected to be presented in Italy early next week.
The 18-year-old has not featured since 21 July, when he played in a heavy win over UCV in Venezuela in the Copa Sul-Americana. He has 13 appearances this season and scored one goal, his first as a professional, in a friendly against União São João.
