Brazil’s civil police have identified six Corinthians supporters who abused an eight-year-old home fan after he received Neymar’s shirt in last Sunday’s clássico against Santos, and the group are under a preventive ban from Neo Química Arena.

The club said in a statement that Drade used stadium cameras and journalists’ footage to identify the six who targeted Pedro Mello and his relatives.

The supporters will answer for the offence of provoking disorder and could be barred from attending Corinthians matches for up to three years. Corinthians has also suspended their Fiel Torcedor accounts, effective from Sunday’s Campeonato Brasileiro match against Chapecoense at 19.30 Brasília time.

Detective Cesar Saad continues to lead the investigation and may yet identify others involved.

After Santos won 1-0, Neymar handed his shirt to a Corinthians fan who said he admired him, which angered some home supporters. The boy and his family were then abused and left the area under escort from military police and security staff.

On Friday, Pedro and relatives visited CT Joaquim Grava to meet the squad and take photos, collecting autographs on a Corinthians shirt. The same day, the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva do Futebol fined Corinthians R$ 10,000 for the disorder.
