Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace wing-back Daniel Munoz after a breakthrough in negotiations.
The Standard understands the clubs have a full agreement, with Forest to pay about £22million.
The Colombian was on the bench as Palace lost 4-1 at home to Manchester City on Friday evening, and he did not come on under Pierre Sage.
Oliver Glasner, whose side drew 2-2 away to Liverpool in the early kick-off on Saturday, has been keen to reunite with Munoz after a successful two-and-a-half-year spell together at Palace. He left Selhurst Park in the summer when his contract expired in June, which cast Munoz’s future into doubt.
Munoz was a key part of the Palace team that won the FA Cup and the UEFA Conference League in successive seasons under Glasner.
The Eagles have already recruited a replacement this summer, signing Israeli international Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise for around £21million. Khalaili made his full Palace debut against City, starting at right wing-back in Sage’s 3-4-2-1.
While Munoz is expected to depart, Palace are intent on keeping winger Ismaila Sarr amid Liverpool interest. The Reds have made checks on the Senegal international but have not begun formal club-to-club talks.
Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta had been exploring a move but now looks set to stay after a hamstring injury ruled him out for up to a month.
