Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach has been called up by Germany for the September and October Nations League window.

yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk reports that the 27-year-old impressed in his first season at Leeds after arriving from TSG Hoffenheim last summer, earning a recall for March friendlies.

Julian Nagelsmann selected him to face Switzerland and Ghana. Stach played 10 minutes from the bench against Switzerland, then was an unused substitute versus Ghana.

He appeared on course for the World Cup squad before an ankle injury late in the campaign cast doubt on his chances. The problem proved minor, yet he was left out of Nagelsmann’s group for this summer’s tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
